Be careful about the fact that other effects than the size can play a role in nanoparticles absorption spectra: non-spherical shape, interaction between nanoparticles, etc... Are your nanoparticles spherical and under the form of a dilute suspension? Also be aware about the fact that finite-size effect corrections for nanoparticles smaller than, let's say, 20 nm, involve a phenomenological parameter whose value depends on the surrounding environment and needs to be evaluated.
