The material for annealing is nickel 625. The process of annealing treatment is firstly heat the furnace to aimed temperature, then put the sample in the furnace and start to record the time when the furnace reach the target temperature. So one problem is how to calculate heating rate or heating time in annealing? Then we could get the hold time at annealing temperature.

you should plot your (temperature versus time plot.
Initially the temperature is increasing up to the annealing temp, this ramp-up period will give you the heating rate deg C/minute). Hopefully you are having a controller which will stop the heating as soon as you reach your annealing temper, and maintain the temperature (Ta) at the set point you have given to your controller. You should have a temp - time data logging with a computer to obtain the ramp up slope, and this should give you the heating rate.
Later when you reach the annealing Temp (Ta) your controller will control the required power to your furnace to maintain the temp (Ta) for a set point period. This will give you hold time. and once the hold time is over, your controller beings to cool the furnace.
So therefore you must have a good PID controller to control your furnace, and a data logger which acquires the data, by measuring the Temp, lets say every minute. You then draw the graph, and then figure out your ramp up slope, and then constant slope representing the hold time.
