How to calculate the fare per km of a public transport mode?

For any available public transport mode in India such as bus, metro, tram fare is fixed per zone. Say, Rs.5.00 upto 2 km, Rs.10.00 for 2-6 km, Rs.15.00 for 6 to 12 km and so on. In such situation how to calculate the fare per km?
