How to calculate R2 from ANFIS output data?

I don't know how I can calculate R2 from ANFIS output data? in many kinds of research I saw that R2 was calculated from "observed" and "predicted" data. what does this data come from?

If I'm not mistaken, the observed data is training data and predicted data is testing one, is that true?
