PVC in what? A mix with other plastic? Garbidge? A copolymer? A melt with other plastics?
If for example PVC is the only chlorine containing plastic in the mix. you could focus on a chlorine analysis

The material is a PVC foam board. It contains polyvinyl chloride along with inorganic fillers, stabilizers, coloring matter.
Vinyl chloride can be analyzed by GC/FID/ECD. But it is important to know sample details and matrix, as Dr.Jos Wielders mentioned.

Depending upon the level of selectivity or specificity and accuracy and precision that you are looking for, there are a wide variety of options. One of the simplest instrumental options is to use a non-dispersive xray fluorescence measurement of the chloride. There are a number of other chlorine methods, such as the classical lime fusion method for chloride. It may also be possible to use an infrared or Raman technique looking for the carbon chlorine bond. Pyrolysis GC is another option,
Vishnu Marisetti Vinyl chloride is not polyvinyl chloride. Vinyl chloride has a molecular weight of about 62.5 amu. polyvinyl chloride has a molecular weight of >10000 amu. PVC will not move on the GC column.
