I have done a simulation of a isolated drop in a continuous flow. The drop can deform and break. I want to estimate the drag coefficient. So how to perform integration over an iso-surface which is the interface for my drop.
Hello, probably you should create a zone from your ISO surface using extract menu, and then use the analysis/perform integration menu to integrate the desired quantity on the newly created zone. Hope it can help. These features are not available in the oldest versions of tecplot. Bye
I guess you should extract an iso-surface of mass fraction equal to 0.5 at first. Then save that iso-surface as a new zone. Go then to Analyze menu and choose Integrate. If you integrate the pressure over the area you may get the force. Do not miss to check the "Show Tabulated Results". Good luck!
I do created the iso-surface with my level set scalar value 0 and extracted the data at iso-surface. It gave me the new zone. However when I perform integration it shows the error message stating forces and moments can be calculated on boundary faces only. I added the zone as boundary face from geometry and boundaries section. But it is having only 2 faces. And when I perform the integration it shows drag is 0. I have checked the variable field also and set the variables properly in it. I am using Tecplot 360 2009 and Tecplot 360 EX. Please tell me if I am wrong somewhere or any other suggestions. Thank you.
