Hello research community,

I would like to bond PMMA to PMMA and PMMA to PDMS possibly PMMA to Glass for a crude fluidic applications (channels cut in PMMA at thickness 0.5-2mm, with width around 1mm with pressures up to 1 bar)

I have looked around and found several glues from Loxeal which could work, but was not able to find any scientific publications so I decided to ask here:)

Does anybody have experience with above-mentioned applications using following Loxeal glues?

  • UV3013 seems to bind not only PMMA to PMMA but also range of other materials
  • UV3011 to make the interfaces with metal tubing/needles
  • AC5465 two component acrylic for low surface energy substrates (no need to worry about UV penetration through the material)

I also found publication (Article A simple and low-cost approach for irreversible bonding of p...

) using double side tapes ARseal 90880 and ARcare 8939.

Would that be something useful?

What would be the pros/cons of the glues/tape approach?

Thank you very much for your reply
