Hello everyone, I have designed my device in sentaurus process editor and would like to extract the I-V characteristics using sdevice. For the same I wrote the code in sdevice environment. When I am running the code, it is showing
"The material name "Al2O3" was not found in DATEX !"
What should I do for this. Do I need to add a .par file for Al2O3? If yes, How can I get the material parameters for Al2O3 to write a .par file for the same. Can you guide me in this regard. Looking forward to your reply.

Dear Barsha,
you can add a new .par in your working directory, including the statements for your custom material, as well as using the .par you're already running simply by adding the environment which concerns Al2O3.
If you prefer the first solution you have to write the code (only the functions you need) in the same manner as you find in a common .par files of the sdevice libraries.

Hi Barsha, as Marco stated before, you'll need the Al2O3.par file or section.
The parameter file includes sections for different types of simulations, not only electrical but also optical, thermal, etc.
To work around the complexity of this you should replicate the section of interest for your simulation.
In our case, for example, we required the band structure data of the oxide, to use as insulator on an MOS structure. Therefore, we simply copied a parameter file for a material of similar application (HfO2 for example) and edited the electronic band structure, mainly electron affinity, which impacts on band alignment. If your case is similar, find attached the parameter file we used for our simulation. You'll probably need to adjust some parameters to your conditions.
