In one synthesis method that I read in one article they used this molar composition: 2.4(TMA)2O:0.032Na2O:1.0Al2O3:3.4SiO2:370H2O after 7 days, Periodically 1 M NaOH solution was added during the synthesis every 8 h until a gel forms with the following composition:

2.4(TMA)2O:0.43Na2O:1.0Al2O3:3.4SiO2:370H2O

My question is, why doesn't the amount of water in NaOH solution which has been added every 8 hr affect the water and other components composition in total?

If we do the calculation based on 20 gr solution, how should we do the calculation and how much NaOH solution should be added? My real problem is how to calculate the amount of NaOH solution.
