I used MPMS equipment to identify saturation magnetisation high carbon steel at 300 K for different sample with different level of RA to calculate RA prcentage. samples are hollow small cylindrical with ID=3.5 OD=5 and length from 2.5 mm to 3 mm. There are two problem firstly the curve have sharp pick before saturated ,secondly the data range is complete different with references .interestingly, I used very low carbon steel (
We mostly like to measure lower moments in MPMS equipment, so first of all check the precision [it should be calibrated well] of your equipment for a stronger signal. However, the different is so larger compared with literature value. In this case, you must also check the quality of your samples.
Do this sharp peak appeared at field where you change the range of applied fields?
Try to calibrate the equipment with some standard specimens, (one which can have some known magnetic properties and other which doesn't).
If its not possible to calibrate the instrument, then I suggest to obtain outputs by doing various measurements on known samples and plot your own trend line which can tell that at such theoretical (actual) value the instrument is showing such (output by inst.) result.
many thanks for your kind response. I could solve problem. It is very interesting. there is no guide related to equipment which how we could sure that the data is not out of range. I used very very small sample ( less tan 6 milligram ) and the peak disappear. when I use sample around 1 gr and normalised data the magnetic saturation was one fifth of current sample with 6 milligram weight.
