I examined a patient with angioedema of the glottis. After an accurate anamnesis and research in the area where the patient lives (Messina Ionian area Sicily - Italy) I found a strong correlation with contact with the plant in the photo whose name I do not know.
Could any of you tell me more? Thanks in advance.
I think it is a plant of Umbilicus, probably Umbilicus rupestris (Salisb.) Dandy
Thank you very much for the quick and thorough response. If it can be useful, to increase the level of specificity of the taxonomy, I can send photos regarding both the type of pollen and the oocytes found, both stained with safranina-alcian blue. I have searched on net in the scientific literature but I have not found any supportive elements on its possible role as component-related disease. Therefore, if it’s an single case, it can be considered for an article.

I also agree it is Umbilicus rupestris or Umbilicus horizontalis. Plants of this genus are widely considered edible and are locally used raw in southern Italy. It would sound quite new if you found that some of their compounds can cause similar diseases.
