Every country have their own way of management of natural forests. So there is need to understand it?. Please do share your countries policy, practice and management of Forests.
As a Canadian living in the US, there are some interesting differences between the two countries. While dated, this paper compares the federal forest management in the US with regional (provincial) forest management in Canada: http://scholarship.law.umt.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1018&context=plrlr This federal vs. regional control is likely a useful way to begin to compare countries in other parts of the world. You may also find these IUCN reports useful on community involvement in forest management around the world. Some can be downloaded as PDFs while others don't seem to be available -- you may have to reach out to IUCN to access those: https://portals.iucn.org/library/taxonomy/term/37227
In Indonesia, forest management policies, especially in natural forests, are carried out by selective cutting systems based on tree diameter limits. For production forest the diameter limit of trees that can be harvested is 40 cm and above, while in limited production forest 50 cm and above. Harvesting is carried out by forestry companies that have been licensed by the government by applying reduced impact logging techniques.
Can you provide some more insight into the manner in which the reduced impact logging is carried out in Natural Forest. It would be great if you could share some very relevant and significant reference documents.
