At the moment, I’m writing a paper about Sustained Casing Pressure (SCP) – pressure in gas or oil well annuli (between steel casings or between casing and tubing) that rebuilds when it’s bled down and that’s not caused by the operator or by temperature fluctuations, therefore usually indicating some kind of leak.

The main goal is to provide an overview of the subject and list the major gas producing countries and their SCP regulations and practices.

A lot of countries don't have official regulations regarding SCP and rely on the expertise of the industry by following their guidelines. I couldn’t find much information about Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq though. Could you tell me how SCP is handled in these countries? Is there any kind of government regulation regarding SCP? I’m looking for information about how to monitor annulus pressures, what to do once SCP is detected, how diagnostic testing should be done etc. And if there are no laws or regulations, which industry guidelines are used by operators?
