I have a doubt with the charging process of a Supercapacitor, because of small value resistance that it have, the current must be extremely high if I connect in a converter DC/DC with voltage mode control. I didn't do real experiment yet but I need some recomendations about how to charge a supercap.
The simplest suggestion - serial connection with resistor (let's name it Rad).This resistor will limit current. to the value I=voltage/(R(sc)+Rad). Unfortunately all time/frequency dependent characteristics will change as well :(
yeah, but I will loss power in the resistor, I'm working in a energy harvesting system and I cannot permit loss power in any circumstances. thanks very much.
Try to use Current Limiting Diode for protection of DC/DC converter. I hope the 10 mA and 4.5V will be enough for harvesting system. In addition, see http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/diodes/current-limiting-diodes.aspx
