I think Gold in ophiolites can be remaining of gold in syprus type massive sulfide that before serpentinization have formed in mid ocean ridge basalts in ophiolite.

Precambrian komatiites had a relatively higher gold content than other volcanic or igneous rocks. When an intrusion cuts across komatiiite it alters it into talc-chlorite schist. The contact area of the porphyry becomes quartz-rich with frequent pyrite and variable amount of visible gold.

The gold probably originated from the komatiites and the sulfur (for the pyrite) from the intrusion.
