I am planning to develop a research project on a public health issue in Canada. I am keen to explore the health consequences of social isolation on the senior immigrants from South Asian countries (i.e., Bangladesh, India, Pakistan).

The most important health consequence I think is depression...I have many friends some of them in Canada too ...They have reported mainly regarding the loneliness and harsh winter climates together impacting the mental health of the senior immigrants from south Asian countries like India....You know very well about the harsh summer climate of India which is in starc contrast with the climate in Canada...This is my view sir...I can help you with further details if you require any...

It is really strange to know that despite good health care in Canada, compared to the the US, elderly or senior immigrants experience health problem. Most of senior Immigrants lack strong family-social relationships they used to enjoy in their homeland countries. Good and warm family-social relationship may prevent the feeling of loneliness and depression, but it is difficult to find it (warm family-social relationship) in individually (not socially) oriented (Western) societies including Canada. This research project is needed. Good luck.
