I know the plot is between over potential vs log I.
But when the current is negative you cannot take log of a negative value.
I don't understand how to go ahead. Please guide me.
you can just take the positive values of your data, the sign does not affect on your Tafel slope.
A agree with Hatem M.A. Amin, you should take a positive value of the current
The charge of the current only shows its direction (towards cathode or anode). As such you can use the absolute value of the current, however remebering which current it is (cathodic or anodic), this will not affect the shape of the Taffel plot.
In agreement with all the other response. Just take the absolut values and graph them vs. overpotential. Best!
You can take the absolute value and it shouldn't matter, I suggest you to read the book of electrochemical methods from Bard in chapter 3.
