To manufacture the nano-composites using wood and plastic as material one needs to have extruder machine. But the extruder machines are not of laboratory scale. Then for the compounding of the two materials can be done on Torque Rheometer machine. On this machine you can standardize the processing parameters like temperature and the ratio of wood fibres, etc. and later you can go for large scale production of WPC on extruder machine. Once you have manufactured the composites then one can mould the composites into specific sized specimens according to ASTM. And determine the Mechanical Properties of the composites.
Many thanks to Amey Kale and especially for Professor Bernhard Wessling for your care and answer. Your answer is valuable and perfect especially it comes from a great specialists in this field.
But I think we can do that by using polypropylene (melting point= 180 C) because the thermal decomposition of wood is started at 375 C, but you can not do this with thermoplastic polymer matrix which are melting between 150 and 300 °C if we use non woody materials.
Also I think that we can use K-mixer or any thermal mixer or twin extruder for compounding the materials and we have a twin extruder in our University.
