Linearize the data first. For example if you think that f(x) = sin(ax)

create a table of sin^-1(f(x)) vs x in Excel and fit a linear equation (with or without intercepts). The slope will give you the value of "a." Look for the goodness of fit using the Rsquare value as a guide.
