Business students have to write group assignments and projects. At my university, we have no tolerance for plagiarism.  I employ a variety of methods to prevent and detect plagiarism in exams and individual or team assignments.

Sometimes, a team will submit a paper where one team member copied part of his contribution from another source behind his or her team mates. 

For researchers and authors, all co-authors bear equal responsibility as we are held personally responsible for any paper we sign. 

What about students? Should they be expected to check every word written by team mates?

What methods to you use to prevent team plagiarism?  How do you discipline team mates who did not actively plagiarize but rather trusted the plagiarizer?
