Apart from using land area spread and amount of total biomass burnt to assess the degree of severity of fire incidence in natural vegetation. What other measures directly estimate fire intensity or severity?

Dear Stephen,
You can also use the difference of NDVI, LAI or the Normalized Burn Ratio (NBR) between the Pre-burn and Post-burn states to assess the burn severity or burn completeness or burn efficiency, e.g.,
[(Pre-burn NDVI - Post-burn NDVI )/Pre-burn NDVI]*100%
The same is for other indicators.
