Actually I'm looking for the actuators that can make a color changing mechanisme. Now, I'm working on how to imitate the color change in skin color. For instant, if a baby hava a symptom of cyanosis, her skin will change from white to blue. So, I'm looking for the actuators that can make a color change.

As far as I knew, the best method is detecting mechanical agitation and then turning on the electrochromic display. But it depend on entire design of your system. if the baby is your case thermochrom works better. However I do not expect sensitive color change in case temperature variation.

one way to actively change colour is by tuning the lattice in photonic nanocrystals. Many animals use this principle: chameleon, butterfly, etc.

Please have a look at a recent publication on this:

If you can build the photonic nanocrystal and can actively change its lattice constant through e.g. electrostatic or magnetic or other actuation, then you may have your color change actuator.

I remember some sort of safety chip which simply attach to the breakable luggage (for example by glue). When it falls down makes some color change (red in my case) in the chip. So you knew the luggage is broken or not. They told me the chip is working based on acceleration. When it is higher than what is expected a ball tear thin membrane between two chemical which produce red color. They call it break sticker.
