I prepared some compounds like perovskites using the planetary ball mill. Usually, I set the machine up to 300 rpm with 7 to 9 balls for different long times.
The problem, when I finish the experimental step and go for cleaning step, I suffered a lot. The milled powder sticks on the interior wall of the vial. I tried hardly to remove the powder using different teqnichues like milling quartz, soupe,jif, strange solution. At the end, still some of remaining powders are sticking on the wall.
This may affect on the next millingexperiment.
do u have another solution to clean the vial with less time and effort ???
Could you use a dishwasher? Dishwashers work quite effectively to remove sticky powders. However, you should be careful and you should use a mild program of the dishwasher in order to avoid an attack on your planetary mill equipment.
Try to mill with alcohol in the following way: 5 minutes milling 5 minutes pause. repeat this cycle by 4-5 times.

Sometimes there are some trouble for clean the milling ball vials and balls after experiments. The milled powder sticks on the interior wall of the vial and hardly to remove.
The most widely used cleaning solvent in the industry i.e. methanol, acetone, dimethyl formamide and ethyl acetate. The solvent may be readily available and routinely used in the manufacturing process. Sodium laurel sulfate (a surfactant which attracts dirt, keeping it from re-depositing once removed), and ammonia (a strong base used to dissolve organic compounds.
The milled powder sticks on the interior wall of the vial and hardly to remove. These are usually cleaned by using solvent, like alcohol. The best way is to discharge the product first by ammonia to let dissolve it and then some solvent(like sodium laural suplhate+ alkokal) and does the ball milling for 2-3 min. Remove solution. Repeat and finally take out everything and clean with cotton waste soaked in solvent.
