Hello Everyone,

I have 3 categorical variables

1. Gender: 0 = man, 1 = woman

2. Married: 0 = not married, 1 = married

3. Child: 0 = no child, 1 = has 1/more child(ren)

I regressed a continuous dependent variable in the following manner:

DV ~ Gender + Married + Gender*Married + Child + Gender*Child

Now the results are such that:

1. Gender main effect: significant

2. Married main effect: insignificant

3. Gender*Married interaction: insignificant

4. Child main effect: significant

5. Gender*Child interaction: significant

So am I correct in saying:

1. Being a woman has a significant effect

2. Being married does not have a significant effect

3. Being a woman and married does not have a significant effect

4. Having a child has a significant effect for man and woman

5. Being a woman with 1/more child(ren) has a significant effect

So in short, being a woman and having 1/more child(ren) irrespective of man/woman is relevant to DV, but being married is not. Am I correct?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.
