I'm working on PSAT to design a grid connected wind farm with FACTS, the type of compensator I am using is SVC and STATCOM. I got the power flow working but whatever value I put on the compensator has no difference on the circuit.

hey,
i am not exactly sure why is it not changing according to what you say. But i believe that you will get a better result if you increase the reactive load on the bus while decreasing the reactive power generated by the slack generator. To reduce the slack generator change the limits in the generator model. Thus the reactive power required will be supplied by the SVC. You will observe the change if you plot the voltage at the particular bus with and without SVC.
