Hello

I'am using methanesulfonic acid (MSA) as an catalyst in the esterification of stearic acid with 2-ethylhexanol. What would be the best way to remove and verify that the catalyst is removed?

I know that washing is an option but I would prefer an other option because it is very labour intensive. An other option that I come across a lot is neutralisation, but wouldn't that saponify part of my ester?

Thank you
