With this, I intend to investigate how the level of trust the civil servants have in the government influences their response to the tax law
does the following work?
Understanding how civil servants’ degree of trust in government influences their compliance with the tax law as an example of trust determining the success of government policy.
I think an appropriate methodology would be to interview public servants and ask, first a set of questions as to how much they trust/respect/admire government, and then a set of questions on compliance with tax law. The latter might be framed in terms of how respondents might think other people are willing to cheat, what and how they are likely to cheat etc.
