I am working with water quality and other physiochemical components such as temperature, salinity, and nutrients and I would like o interpolate the data from sampling stations to illustrate the water quality distribution in different bay areas.
I am currently looking at IDW interpolation in QGIS 3.6, and it does a reasonably good job of the illustration, however, with a few stations affecting other bay area parameters, even if there is land between them. I would need to have some barrier between bays and lagoons so that stations from the red-marked area don't affect the green-marked area and vice versa.
Is there a tool in QGIS that can build barriers between bays and lagoons, so that the map "understands" that the water quality from green to red cannot affect one another directly?
