In Europe, I use the key of Stephen Hopkin [A Key to the Woodlice of Britain and Ireland (1991) edited by Field Studies Council]. A more recent review (2009), published by the same editor, was done by Steve Gregory [Woodlice and Waterlice (Isopoda: Oniscidea & Asellota) in Britain and Ireland].

Look for the trapezoidal shape of the telson, coloration (dark grey color with yellow patches), margins are never white and the head has no significant middle lobe (compared with e.g. A. nasatum).
