I had a go to produce DE droplets (microfluidic-based technique) with PBS + 1%Span 20 (inner phase), HFE7500 + 2%picosurf (middle phase) and PBS + 2%Span 20. Everything was perfectly fine. However, the survival ratio after overnight storage in my lab (under ambient temp, 25 degs roughly). My need is to store them for at least one day with high survivability (say up to 90%) of DE samples.
I was wondering if anyone had experienced this and what the potential solution might be? other thoughts and discussions are more than welcome to be commented on below here as well to widen our horizon. Appreciate your time in advance.

to increase survival of an inner phase you may add a component with low solubility in the 'middle phase' e.g. salt if inner phase is water or long chain hydrocarbon if it is oil.
