Haghi, I would recommend looking into the literature on "personal learning environments" (PLEs) which directly addresses the idea of incorporating social media into instruction. This literature may give you insight into assessment as well. Dabbagh and Kitsantis (2012) suggest that PLEs enable three levels of activity including: personal information management, social interaction and collaboration, and information aggregation management (p. 6). These are certainly desirable qualities when teaching online.

Peer-assessment (following fora discussions -interactivity- and modular multiple choice tests) based on a given scenario which incorporates knowledge goals as they appear in the "What we are going to learn" intro ?
- Scenarios present a number of false statements which ought to be corrected and properly referenced (marks accordingly)
- Peer-assessment need to be anonymous
- Each student is assessing a number of peer scenario-answers (anonymous to her/him)
- Each student receives their peer-assessment results and comments
- Faculty incorporates results in the overall evaluation process described and agreed upon at the beginning of a course
Roles:
- Faculty construct the appropriate scenario and process computerised MCT/ scenario scores while actively participating in fora discussions.
- Peers perform final assessment.
