How should Literary Theory subtly influence Literary Translation Methodology and its professionalism?
Literary Theory can impact translation by posing challenges to the uniqueness of the original text and questioning the very essence of literature when viewed from a different perspective. Additionally, Literary Theory emphasizes the cultural dimensions of translation, highlighting the importance of fidelity to cultural patterns and dimensions during the translation process. This focus on cultural aspects in translation helps bridge linguistic and cultural gaps, promoting a deeper understanding and appreciation of world literature. Ultimately, Literary Theory serves as a guiding framework that shapes the translation process, ensuring that translated works maintain their essence and cultural significance while being accessible to a broader audience.
Translation had a major role to communicate between two unknown domain.
For eg the translation of Agni ki udaan from Hindi to English as wings of fire was welcomed by many students.
According to my knowledge it depends on the type of literary work what you translate.for eg a poem doesn't require word to word translation coz it will lose its charm where as scientific essays, political survey, formal correspondence require word to word translation orelse the matter will not be conveyed exactly.
