Hello everybody, can someone tell me how to control an output of a buck converter when as your input (voltage) is variable because it produce by solar generation and the load is variable too because it follow the behavioral of a house where people has not a constant level of comsumption. It is attached in a simulink/simpowersystem model.
You have too many variables! If the house is consuming Whouse watts and the panel is producing Wpanel watts, since Whouse almost never = Wpanel you either have to discard power or bring it in from elsewhere. Buck converters follow the laws of conservation of energy! (1) Is the house grid connected? That could be your source and sink for power. (2) Does it have a battery. That's like a grid but far more limited. Be clear in your mind exactly what you are trying to do first, and to do this you need to answer the two questions, and see how it all fits together as a system. Best wishes!
Hi dear Tony Maine, you're rigth i must explain more my idea:
1- i have the data consumption of the house (it's a small building)
2-the data is in watts and in watts/hour
3-the installation is thought for be off grid (standalone)
4-the electricity will be generated by solar panels and will be storaged in batteries.
My main problem is how to calculate my buck converter without have a load constant and also the variation of DC voltage than comes from the photovoltaic system (solar panels)
I hope cleared up all of your doubts produced by my question, I appreciate your help.

Given your DC link voltage has to be constant, this is the control variable.
Now, what about power ? Your converter has to supply the max. power request !
Depending on the converter design, it will either switch-off, "hiccup" or simply be no longer able to supply the DC voltage desired when the load exceeds the design limit. (OK - this is about 'good design'. Using a 'not-so-good design', the converter may be destroyed due to overload.)
So, the design current is Pmax / Linkvoltage.

You need to make a volatge control or current mode control for your buck converter
given reference then the controller will folow your refrenece in spint of varaiation of input volatge .
