This winter a higher-than- normal fog has been the most common weather phenomenon. It used to be mostly sunny during the winter with occasional snow storms. The humidity levels used to be less than 50% on the average, now linger between 70 and 100 %. The fog is rather thin and the sun is visible through the clouds.
it looks like the fog frequency is diminishing. This makes sense because climate warming will tend to reduce the dew point at which condensation or dew appears.
I remember as a kid, there were much more radiative fog than nowadays.

This is interesting, because my experience shows the fog has increased especially so far this winter. This "fog" is actually not touching the ground, but much higher than ordinary fog.
Recently, I took several trips from Brandon to The Pas, Manitoba. Most of the time I was in this "fog" and I found it unusual as I have made this tip many times before in the last 30 years.
I am visiting in North Carolina at the moment and I see the same phenomenon, fog higher up in the air. This is different than normal clouds.
Interesting.
I guess some places will see fog increases and other fog decreases.
That what climate change is all about. Increase of spatio-temporal variability and uneven distribution.
I was on a trip to North Carolina and I noticed the same phenomenon there, but not as frequent as in Canada.
That means I am not dreaming, it is probably everywhere!
Driving back home I noticed this dark-grey "blanket" (maybe 1 km thick) covering most of the sky and making the sunlight dim trying to peak through.
I am afraid it looks like this "blanket: will be permanent in the future and will limit the sunlight visible to us. What a dim future it would be!
