I am working on optimal channel selection for motor imagery BCI. Since EEG has a very poor spatial resolution, I thought sLORETA could be of some help because of its good localization properties. However, I am not able to understand how to use sLORETA for classifying different MI tasks like right vs left hand movement imagination. From the sLORETA viewer I am able to see the neuronal activations in 3 - view (Front,back,side) slices at different time instants, but I do not know how to proceed further.
I am not that familiar to sloreta, I had downloaded it once, but found little material for helping and could not find a forum for having my questions answered. So I don't really know how easy is for you to use this software with your data.
I would suggest you to use BrainStorm (neuroimage.usc.edu/brainstorm3_register/download.php), it is also free and you can use methods as constrained Loreta or MN for calculating the Electrical Source Imaging. You can easily separate your data in epochs: trials imagining the movement by right hand and trials from left hand. Then you can reconstruct your sources and also navigate in the cortex surface reconstructed or in the 3dt1. You also can see how the sources are distributed in each time instant of your epoch.
