Learner autonomy in an EFL classroom context can be maximized through different methods. For me role playing with authentic cultural practices worked very well.
Well, as far as I know autonomy is not strictly tied by classroom.in field independent societies autonomy is ecperieced all day long and in class it is simply contextualized within the realm of learning. In field dependent societies classroom is only to implement a guided autonomy which is a fake version that lasts once we leave the classroom. We can speak of autonomy when totalitarian minds with athoritative traits have no room in societies.
Learner autonomy can be promoted through independent-learning tasks. In other words, teacher could give leaners options to navigate and take risks. Here is a good list of strategies you can delve into.
The Learner-centered approach or the Learning centered approach is a well-constructed similar framework where if we insert the stages of Bloom's taxonomy precisely during the syllabus designing. Moreover, the stage or the level of learning is an evident factor with which we can approach the intrust of students in a learner-centered classroom environment otherwise if a teacher is unable to engage students in the classroom then it will become useless to go for any approach.
