In big ECU networks, service discovery messages from SOME/IP-SD can overwhelm the system if left unchecked. The solution is to shrink their reach with VLANs or gateways, and let switches manage multicast smartly with IGMP/MLD snooping. Use rate limits and smarter software logic so ECUs don’t keep shouting the same thing. Wherever possible, switch to unicast or rely on discovery brokers that gather and share updates efficiently. ECUs themselves should ignore duplicates and only subscribe to what they really need. Keeping an eye on traffic levels, setting alarms, and stress-testing the setup ensures reliable communication without flooding the network.
