I am planning a large (300L) continuous culture of Chlorella vulgaris and/or Scenedesmus obliquus. This culture should be kept free of contamination from bacteria and fungi. I found many purification techniques to start properly a culture with adding antibiotics, but they are removed once the culture starts and the contamination really depends on sterile conditions. Due to the size of the culture, I think it will hard to keep the culture free of other microorganisms.

Is this safe for me to constantly add an antibiotic mix into the culture?
