I believe authenticity in learning a subject can be significantly influencial towards the students' success in both school and real life realm. Making them perform some projects with topics easily found in daily life will surely benefit them not only learning but also acquiring some new skills. Students will be thankful to teachers that they learn this at school.

If the students can verbally express their wants and needs, ask them. Our students are more interested in education than we give them credit. They are eager to express ways to help them authentically learn.
Learning through Play roles and AI games could help increase the willingness to learn.
First of all we have to try to start from the interests of the students. Notice how we can capture your attention. And, on the other hand, using manipulative methodologies. In which the students make decisions in the learning activities they do.
That is not a mere spectator, if not that actively participate in their training and experiences.

What I have seen these days, teachers are not interested to take their classes. My suggestion to all those teachers is to resign from the post and join some other job so that a deserving candidate comes in the system and do the best for the children.
Research-based learning, problem-based learning, project-based learning, peer learning, learning through storytelling, l. through play etc. and all of that with less complicated textbooks and with more activity (l. by doing). Motivation and interest are at the very beginning of the process.
I agree with you, Dijana. Learning occurs when students feel that the knowledge has not just innate value but real time practical use. When learning and skills practice happen together, knowledge is acquired and retained. Our brains have to be able to retrieve knowledge, not just file it. Having an activity, memory or emotion attached to the knowledge makes it easier to recall.

Some suggestions to make students more interested in learning are (1) bring external speakers from various fields to give them their narrative and relevance of learning in school to what they are actually doing now in their workplace, (2) encourage group learning and team work from early on making the class room more fun, (3) reward teachers who bring innovation to the class room, (4) reward students who think outside the box, (5) develop a project for each learning area and let students, as a team, work on it and build something out of it.
I suggest we engage the students more on practical teaching..learning must be learner centred ..also there is need for resourceful teaching rather than abstract teaching ..With these, students interest will be spurred
