Methane being a Strong Greenhouse gas is emitted from open dumping sites of solid waste (Most of them are located in developing countries). Some of these dumping sites are active since several decades. What can be the most plausible method/technique to measure methane generation from these dumping sites.?? Thanks
It's not an easy answer, we don´t know if this waste dump is growing in the time you say, 15 years. You have to consider how much methane produces one ton of a medium kind of charge of this waste, and multiplicated for how much tons are in the dump.
Following up on Marcelo's reply it depends what you mean. Has it stopped receiving waste, is it still receiving etc.

I would probably choose the latter model, as it has some predefined data. So if you base it on this, you just need to choose what type of waste is in your landfill from some set types and how has it been landfilled, what is the type of landfill (shallow or deep), and a few other settings. And it will then give you the year by year and commulative rates.
This is of course a model approach, but it sounded like this was the type of data you were after.
