In "Pulse Generator" block whatever pulse type you select; "Time based" or "Sample based"
you can handle the period of the signal and Pulse width at the same time, obtaining the
desired signal with constant period. Besides you can use the Signal Generator block with this purpose.
If you desire to obtain variable pulse width, I recomend you to exploit the posibilities of the
"Signal Generator" block. It's more complex to use but you can generate various signals
with diferents characteristics and custom wave forms.

I also prefer to use the signal generator block. For an impulse signal i usually go by the rule that an impulse signal has value of "e" on a time period of "1/e".
For example for time of 1/10 sec and a value of 10, or 1/100sec and a value of 100. THis can be created in the signal generator block.
