From various wavelength = 488 or 514 or 785 nm. In metal doped Semiconductor shows some small difference only between 488 and 514nm. Please help me to fix laser.
The basic rule is that a wavelength is selected which produces the least luminescence.
In semiconductors, different wavelengths in this range have different penetration depths.
What do you mean by small difference? If the signal is not intense, try to use more exposure time(integration time).
Blue or green lasers (400-512 nm) can be good for inorganic materials and Raman experiments for carbon related materials.
Red or near infra-red (660-830 nm) are good for fluorescence suppression.
Dear Raj kumar, if you see the basics of the raman spectroscopy, you can see 'raman cross section = peak intensity' depends on the (frequency of the laser)^4., means you would have got intense peak with 514 nm laser. if you see the luminescence by this laser switch to lower frequency laser (like 785nm).
