I have two tree files with the usual suffix .run1.t and .run2.t that you get as a result of a typical MrBayes analysis, but still haven't got a consensus tree (file ending .con) because the analysis was aborted due to the elapsed time limit on CIPRES. I added an additional line saying "End;" at the end of both .t files, but everytime I try
Sumt Nruns=2 Ntrees=1
I get the following error message:
Unterminated tree block in file Sedum.run1.t. You probably need to
add a new line to the end of the file with "End;" on it.
Error in command "Sumt"
Any help on this matter would be highly appreciated, thank you very much!

Check if your ".t" files ended at the same tree (the number of the last tree should be the same). If not, just delete the last tree of one of the files.
Be aware that you need a ";" after the last tree and after that you should add the "End;""
just try: "sumt nrun=2"
If does not work, just send me the .t files and the infile.nex that I try to do it for you.

thank you very much for your help! Yes indeed, both tree files have the same number of trees and end at generation 86.910.000. The last tree is already followed be a semicolon which is in turn followed by "End;" in the final line.

Hello, a protocol that I follow, it might help you:
1- Download the two .t and .p files (from CIPRES, if you have run on this platform), together with the file infile.nex;
2- Open the file infile.nex in notepad ++ and add a "p" after "mcmc" = mcmcp;
3- Open Mr. Bayes and execute infile.nex;
4- Type "sump";
5- Type "sumt".
6- Now you will have a .tree file that can be opened in Figtree, for example.
Attention, all files (.t and .p and infile) need to be in the same folder, together.
