Please tell me how can I separate HCl from amine hydrogenchloride solution by electrolysis? If I am using simple electrolysis technique to amine hydrogenchloride solution, is there any chance for amine decomposition. Please suggest me a method.
Can you provide more specifics, are you trying to separate free HCl from an Amine .HCl, or just remove the HCl from a Amine.HCl; What is the solvent? Why do you want to perform electrolysis? What are the electrolysis conditions. What is the stability of amine base as well as amine.HCl in such conditions? If you could evaluate these questions, you would come up the answer.
Well , my friend suggest that " In this case evaporation (under lower pressure?) is the simplest method to obtain solid amine hydrochloride. Why use electrolysis?" .But , I want to remove HCl from amine by electrolysis. Can you give me some suggestion ?
Neutralize the amine.HCl with NaOH or Na2CO3 and extract the free amine in a water immiscible organic solvent. Separate the organic layer and evaporate to obtain the amine.
