I am facing problem with Aluminum electrode deposition over P3HT:PCBM film for my organic solar cell. This is probably due to the roughness of the active layer. I need suggestions to reduce the roughness.
There are several solutions to reduce the roughness of a spray film as follows.
1. A small nozzle to limit the large particles going through;
2. Diluted solutions to make thick layer films at multiple layers one by one. Inbetween the layers, make sure to anneal the film.
3. Control the speed, direction and distance to the substrates of your spraying.
I am sure that you can get your desirable films after practice. I fully agree that the spray coating is not easy to get homogenous films as spincoating or blade coating does. The spray coating is an excellent technique for diluted solution or water based solution coatings.
