we synthesized furfuryl glycidyl ether from furfuryl alcohol via epichlorohydrin, but due to the uncertain situation, left the FGE for a week without further purification after drying it with sodium sulfate. What purification methods i can follow to remove impurities from prepared FGE. and does using excess NaOH 50% wt solution affect the FGE.

The purification method of FGE can use methods such as recrystallization and column chromatography purification.
50% NaOH solution may cause epoxy ring opening reaction and hydrolysis of glycidyl ether bonds. If NaOH solution is used, please control the temperature and time.
