I need to know how can I get the varying concentrations of essential oil with DMSO to do agar well diffusion assay. The concentration of Moringa oil is 0.902 g/ml while rosemary is 0.908 g/ml. Measure out the amount of 100% DMSO needed for your experiment. For example, if you need 100 ml of 5% DMSO solution, measure out 5 ml of 100% DMSO. Add the measured amount of 100% DMSO to a clean, dry container. Slowly add 95 ml of the solvent (water or ethanol) to the container while stirring continuously to ensure that the DMSO is evenly distributed. Continue to stir until the solution is thoroughly mixed.
To make a 5% DMSO solution from 100% DMSO, you will need to dilute the 100% DMSO solution with a suitable solvent such as distilled water or ethanol. Here are the steps:
