I have a data set with abundance in class (0-500, 500-1000, 1000-5000, etc...) and I was planning to perform an rda.....but R doesn't accept anything that is not numerical in any ordinations of the vegan package. I have found how to deal with environmental data in class, but nothing about abundance so far...any idea? Thank you so much!

I am not quite sure whether this is what you are looking for. If you want to introduce your class data into an RDA, you may need to change your classes to dummy variables (i.e., 1/0), considering your classes as n-1 columns; then you can introduce your data matrix in the analysis. For example, if you have five different classes, you should end up with a matrix of four columns (the last class is not included because it produces an error in the output).
