The mechanical properties of all tested RTV-1 formulations (deacetone and dealcohol type) could not meet the requirements. Any good idea to improve the mechanical properties of RTV-1 silicone rubber？
I have attached one article which nano-SiO2 particles has been used to improve mechanical properties of silicone .I hope it would be useful.
Most technical grade silicones contain upto 30 wt% of "fumed silica" - SiO2 nanoparticles that are cheap to buy. A wide variety is available in terms of size distribution, agglomeration and surface polarity. They increase the mechanical and thermal properties considerably.
What specific mechanical properties are insufficient? You could just increase the silica content. Other factors are completness and degree of crosslinking.
