do you want to crosslink collagen alone or collagen and laminin ??

Hi, if you gonna prepare a collagen-laminin gel with high mechanical strength, you can try play on the mixing ratio between collagen (C) and laminin (L) exp: C/L: 50/50. Different ratio of mixing can result in different tensile strength and later on cross linking may give you a not tearable gel.

I am planning to cross-link between collagen and laminin. But i want the cross-linking agents that should affect the cells since i interested add cells to gel before forming a system.

Hi Sir, 

May be you can try to use 0.3% or 0.5% of glutaraldehyde for cross-linking purpose.  Low concentration of glutaraldehyde using may not be so toxic for cell culturing. However, may I know why not you try to fabricate collagen-Laminin scaffold first then only inserting cell?

Hi it's tricky to crosslink collagen in situ with the cells ! Collagen itself has a thermogelling property, may be you just need to play around with the pH using some buffer and forms a thermo gel. To crosslink collagen and laminin is also tricky one as such because both collagen and laminin has only amines and acids. Low conc. Of glutaraldehyde are good otherwise you might need to think of introducing some functional groups and then crosslink !
